Flooding and wet weather

During wet season which is also known as 'The Wet' (from November to April) and during any major flood event, areas throughout Queensland can experience flooding and/or land slips. Roads can also be cut off or washed away. This can cause the isolation of communities, industries and travellers.

Road closures, restrictions and traffic management are some of the ways Transport and Main Roads can assist road users and manage road assets.

  The QLDTraffic website provides information to assist with general travel throughout Queensland. These things include:

• State Highways and Motorways Report (PDF, 150KB) which provides a summary of access status for major roads across Queensland and is updated hourly.

• An Interactive Map which displays closures and limits on Queensland roads with coloured lines, as well as Road Works, Special Events and Incidents.
